New Life

There is beauty in birth. The birth of an idea, the birth of a movement, the birth of a child. Each may mean a new life; a new way of thinking for those impacted. There is a freedom of spirit that comes with this newness, much like being baptised.

We welcome the lives of all of you and we sing the praises of God for having you here with us. This time, this moment, this breath - we dedicate it to new life.

Reading Between The Lines

Reading the bible can be a rewarding as well as confusing experience. Different versions use different words and often we find meaning lost in translation.

For believers in Christ, as well as Christianities critics I always recommend they read the text from beginning to end before forming opinions. It helps if you wish to understand and defend what you believe in and vice versa.

While reading, allow your heart and mind to open to the teachings. Lessons learned centuries ago taught in the bible are still applicable today, even with the complications of technology and ever advancing science.

Murder, jealousy, betrayal, love, and compassion are constructs of the human condition that are inescapable. Let us look to the wisdom of HIS word to re-order our own lives.

Facing Doubt

Who is God? Why does God exist; does HE exist? Where does God reside?

These are questions that we can only answer within our own hearts. In order for the answers to be undeniable, you cannot get them from anyone else, any text or scripture. You need to search yourself.

For me, God is the means to my survival, HE exists for to love, and HE resides in my heart.

Sometimes doubt creeps in, but instead of running from the doubt, you must face into it. If you put your back to a wind that opposes you and let it push you, you get further and further away from your destination. But if you fight, if you face into the wind and come to terms with your beliefs and you get closer to the ultimate goal; living a life that reflects HIS glory.

Peoples judgement on your spirituality shouldn't matter; at the end of the day, we all reside within ourselves and need to come to terms with ourselves after everyone is gone and we are alone.

Live Life More Abundantly

The Bible teaches us in Galatians 6:9 that we should not get weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. But what do you do when you're good is spoken evil of? What do you do when you do get weary, because life can sometimes weigh us down?

Sickness comes, financial hardships come, friends and even family can sometimes forsake you, and you begin to ask the question is my labor in vain. But I think the Apostle Paul sheds some light for us when we find ourselves ready to throw in the towel. He tells us in Phil 3:14, to press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling.

A press tells us that it will not be easy. But we have an example in Jesus Christ who finished the race; Christ went all the way to the cross just to redeem us. So when you feel like giving up just remember in this time of Lent what Christ did for us. He died so that we could live life more abundantly.

I feel comforted by this.

Love and Faithfulness

Proverbs 3:

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

What does bitterness get you in life? The weight of a bitter heart is more than anyone should bear. It colors your world in pessimism and and hatred. It taints our decision making and hinders our growth.

Lack of faith is lack hope; lack of the ability to draw from you inner spirituality to believe in what is not seen.

Never forget that love and faithfulness have guided those in your life who have supported and nurtured you; pay it forward.

God Moves Unexpectedly

God moves unexpectedly, but we must take the first step. If our minds tell us 'no' before we even try then we block the blessing that may be waiting for us.

I don't mind being a 'yes man', sometimes I'm the only one saying yes on a room full of no's. I don't mind being a believer, I've seen enough jaded hearts to last a lifetime.

I don't mind walking on faith, to some is flying blind but to me it means being lead by the all knowing and powerful protector of my destiny. There is very little that is impossible, most scenarios labeled impossible are merely improbable; keep an open heart and mind and receive back all of the yes's that you put out into the universe.

Belief can be many things to different people; a trial for some, a last resort for others, but for many belief is where hope resides. Make room for it in your life; it weighs nothing, costs nothing, but your return on your investment in it can mean everything.

Faith is confidence in the unseen. Give faith, be faithful, choose to walk a path you've never even seen.Say yes to belief. Say yes to faith. Yes yes to HIM.

Listening To The Whisper

In the old testament God spoke to Moses in a booming voice at times. Today, most people don't hear booming instructions from a pillar of fire at night or clouds by day. Today, Christ resides within us, whispering softly and patiently waiting for us to listen.

Have you ever been to a party where all of the guests are engaged in conversation and the hum in the room drowned out the voice of a dear friend standing close to you? Some of us pretend to hear the words of our friend and just nod affirmatively every other word. Some of us put our friend off and mingle with the other guests creating more noise. But others of us, those of us attempting to form deeper more meaningful relationships with our loved ones, we draw nearer until the words become clearer and all distraction fades away.

Christ's whisper is in all of us and the more peaceful and quiet it is within our souls and environments, the easier it is for us to hear. I feel we can draw nearer to Him by taking time out of our busy schedules to pray in a calm peaceful space and reflect on the actions and words that would help us draw closer to the kingdom. Listen to the whisper.

Serve and Know HIM

Jesus tells us in Matthew 22:37 that we are to 'Love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it: we are to 'Love our neighbor as our self.', and as I get closer to God these words continually resonate within, so much so that I constantly remind our congregation of Jesus’ word during our communion Sunday's. But about two weeks ago as I woke up God spoke these words to me; God let me know that until one really learns how to love and serve one can never fully comprehend who He is. This let me know that there should be pleasure in serving with much gratitude, because I want to get to know God more and more each day.

Authority With No Ability

Imagine witnessing a crime while standing next to a uniformed police officer and instead of leaping into action and pursuing the perpetrator, the officer starts screaming “help, somebody call the police!” So it is when God’s children do not position themselves to be equipped for the work God has called us to individually and collectively carry out. The mere fact that God has called you means that you are backed by His Authority. However, when we do not discipline and commit ourselves to prayer, fasting, and communing with God by spending time in His Word, we set ourselves up to lack the ability to effectively function in our calling. If you are hard pressed to receive this, please take a walk with me through the events of Mark 9:14-26 where we find a large crowd arguing with several disciples. Upon Jesus’ arrival, He inquired of the people about the nature of the argument. The crowd then rushed to Jesus and a man responded “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not” (17-18 NIV). Since the disciples have the authority of Luke 10:19 (“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”), why were they not equipped to carry out Jesus’ calling on their lives? Jesus answers this question very clearly in Mark 9:19 “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you?...” In order for us today to believe, we must first have faith! But if we are not praying, fasting and spending time with God, we cannot be equipped with the faith we need to carry out our Divine calling, hence we will lack the ability to effectively tap into God’s Authority! Increase your faith and reclaim everything (your ministry, children, finances, health, etc.) that the enemy has stolen!

Welcome to Jesus Saves Back To Life Ministries blog home!

In our search to become ever closer to God and follow in the path he would have us travel, we - as individuals - sometimes forget that the journey is just as important as the destination. Some of us will have journeys full of potholes, burning buildings, and rain, while others seem to encounter rainbows and butterflies in their lifetime. Regardless of the difficulties we need to know that we are a part of a plan. Let Jesus Saves help guide you, help comfort you, help educate you as you walk with us in our Christian journey. Members of our church will periodically post to this blog - please feel free to leave comments.

Welcome!
